5 Delhi University Fests You Shouldn’t Miss Out On

After 14 tedious years of school, where all of us are bounded by restrictions and rules, college life is a pleasant phase of life when we actually experience madness and fun at its zenith. And if you happen to be a DU student, then you know what we are talking about!

DU colleges greet us with an amazing freshers’ party, Diwali melas, sweet-and-sour farewells and most importantly the annual festivals, which give us the strength to endure an entire academic year and endless opportunities to have fun, eat yummilicious food and witness breath-taking performances by some famous stars and celebrities.

Although every college fest is spectacular and full of fun, these 5 splendid fests are a must-go and should not be missed if you are in or around DU during the fest season!

1. Mecca – Hindu College

Just like its name, the fest is also noteworthy. One of the most eccentric fests in entire DU, Mecca witnesses colourful dance performances, beautiful vocal performances, a band night and everyone’s favourite, a famous star night. Being a part of the fest and spamming your Instagram feed with selfies clicked in Mecca is a lot more fun than it sounds!

2. Crossroads – SRCC

Luckily, you do not need 99.9% to enjoy SRCC’s amazing fest. Everyone’s dream college, or so it is called, looks nothing less than a dream during their fest. Every year, some renowned and mind-blowing band performs and fills the air with enthusiasm and fun. It is a night that definitely should not be missed!

3. Tempest – Miranda House

Probably the only time when boys see the face of this all-girls college, Tempest has no space for boredom. This north-campus college has many foods and shopping stalls where you can try a variety of delicacies and buy your favourite accessories at unbelievably low prices. Go there with your friends and get pretty knick-knacks and temporary but vivacious tattoos.

4. Nexus – Sri Venkateswara College

All about enjoyment and making memories, Nexus is one of the best DU fests which definitely should not be missed. The star-night is said to be one of the best in the university and the crowd is phenomenal. Raising your hands up high and singing to the tunes of popular songs with your gang is always a good feeling.

5. Reverie – Gargi College

Radiant,  energetic, vivid, eccentric, rocking, inspiring and enlightening, when combined makes REVERIE! The fest is much more than these words. It is an experience in itself, one which is never forgotten for fun activities planned every day!
